About Me

My passion for angling started nearly 30 years ago and the deep rooted desire to be on the bank is still as strong today as it was back then. From snatching tiddlers at the age of 4 to gradually working my way up to net fulls of Roach, catching tench on breadflake and Piking in Scotland. In my teenage years the carping bug hit me and that pretty much consumed my life for the next ten years or so! But in more recent years, priorities have changed and traveling to New Zealand for 2 years forced me to try other forms of angling, including sea fishing off wild beaches, monster brown trout fishing in lightly fished rivers and even a little big game fishing in Rarotonga. I have even dabbled in some fly fishing in Scotland, which to my surprise is incredibly good fun.

There really is more out there than just carp fishing but despite all of this, I still choose carp as my main target in the warmer months, I guess that bug will never, ever really go away. Nowadays lots of my fishing is based around helping others through my tuition’s but I still find a little time every spring to go and target those little caught carp in the bigger, less fished pits hoping to bag a surprise!
